Billy Cross Invitational

So every year some friends of ours host the first cycling race of the season. It is lovingly referred to as the "BillyCross Invitational"!
This is a fun race where everyone gets together to hang out, ride, relax, eat good food & drink good drink, enjoy a bonfire, catch up with family, and just talk "bike shop"!
There is usually a costume involved in this race, to see how "hillbilly" you can be and it can be hillarious! Below are a few pictures from our adventures that day!

Billy Cross February 2010 at Robert and Sharons property:

"Petey" the peacock- newest addition to the Maye-Oakly clan!
Turkeys on the farm
Hubby-Zach, his contribution to the "hillbilly" theme was a Michelob jersey- lol!
Getting ready to run the course...
Notice the costumes- gotta love the baby mama...!

Getting ready for some grub post race!
Mingling while the food is coming out...
Lots of chili, stew and bbq!
Hubby, waiting to clean his stead post race
yep, she needs a bath!
It was a fun race!

I asked God...

I asked God to take away my bad habits. God said “no”.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make me whole. God said “no”.
Your spirit is whole your body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience. God said “no”.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn’t granted it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness. God said “no”.
I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain. God said “no”.
Suffering draws you apart form worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said “no”.
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life. God said “no”.
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said… “Ahhhhh, finally you have the idea”.
